Harvest Farm is really a family affair in every sense of the word. We are all family as well as friends in the group made up of Eric and Danielle Geesling, Derek & Michelle Zongker, Bart and Kay Zongker, & Gary and Elaine Geesling. We are all in-laws or out-laws but we aren't sure which is which...I guess we will let you be the judge of that! Anyway, between all of us we have more than 150 years experience in farming and we are very excited about the opportunity to have your family visit ours. We are very excited to be open for our fourth season in 2007. It has been an amazing project that we could not have achieved without God's grace and blessing. We are constantly thinking of new ideas and ways to make our customers experience at the farm a great one. As we grow we hope to maintain that enthusiasm that brings us back every year.
Eric & Danielle Geesling
As owners of the Harvest Farm property, Eric and Danielle not only work here but also call it home. Along with their three kids (Garrett, Kayley & Abigail who are our quality control testers!), Eric and Danielle have lived here for almost thirteen years. Eric who has lived in Turon his whole life farms with his dad and grand-dad on land that has been in the family for over 5 generations. Now that Danielle has all her kids in school, she has started substitute teaching in the off season of pumpkins and is very proud to be a member of the Class IX KARL class. We welcome you to our farm and home and hope your family will enjoy it as much as we do.
Derek & Michelle Zongker
Derek & Michelle make their home in the Sylvia area where they farm and raise almost every animal under the sun. All of the petting zoo animals have been lovingly trained and raised by them. Derek is very busy with all of his different farming jobs as well as being an assistant rural postal carrier. Michelle, a transplant from Colorado, is kept very busy getting acclimated to Kansas and helping Derek with the farm operation as well as taking care of their growing family. They have two young sons, Zack and Rex, that keep them on their toes and running for cover. Zack and Rex are our safety testers on the farm as they is sure to find anything that is dangerous to a toddler.
Gary & Elaine Geesling
Gary and Elaine also make their home at Turon where they farm with their son, Eric, and Gary's father. Elaine is a substitute teacher which keeps her very busy as well as all her hobbies and quilting addiction. They have three grown sons; Eric, Jeff & Alan and 7 grandchildren which love to spend lots of time on the farm with them.
Bart & Kay Zongker
Bart and Kay live on their farm in Plevna where they raised their three children; Derek, Darren & Danielle (Geesling). Bart is a full time rural postal carrier. Kay is now officially retired but has been drafted into expanding the concession and catering areas of Harvest Farm. She is also a confessed quilt addict that hopes to soon actually get to quilt during retirement this winter. Besides being very busy with their "day" jobs, their 7 grandkids fill their time and hearts to capacity.
